Echocardiography across the spectrum of pulmonary vascular disease: Lessons from a case of systemic sclerosis
About This Session
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Describe the role of echocardiography in screening and monitoring pulmonary vascular disease, using systemic sclerosis as an at-risk population.
Recognize echocardiographic features of early pulmonary vascular disease and exercise induced pulmonary hypertension.
Differentiate pulmonary arterial hypertension from HFpEF associated pulmonary hypertension using echocardiographic findings and hemodynamics.
Identify changes in right heart structure and function across pulmonary vascular disease progression.
Integrate echocardiography and invasive hemodynamics for longitudinal assessment and phenotyping of pulmonary vascular disease.
