Latest Developments
Two new countries/territories/areas from the Western Pacific Region, and
Eastern Mediterranean Region have reported cases of COVID-19.
Update on vaccine progress
Italy
The number of covid-19 cases admitted to ICU has gone up to 11.6 % based on 8567 patients. Number may be lower when all admitted cases are accounted for.
88% of deceased had at least one comorbidity (cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, diabetes, immunodeficiency, metabolic diseases, cancer, obesity or other chronic diseases)
10.1% death rate (7503 fatalities / 74386 cases), with 683 deaths yesterday.
5210 new cases yesterday.
6205 Healthcare Workers infected.
More than 30 doctors (33) have given their lives - youngest doctor was born in 1971.
